Hey lovelies! I know it’s been a whiiiiiile since I shared some art, but please believe that I have been getting ๐๐พ it ๐๐พย in ๐๐พ in 2019! My people have showed up and showed tf out already, my gawdt! I’m still recovering. Some people were not playing when they said this was their year. I will have to take more time to introduce you to some brands and causes you can support in a later post, but until then..
Shero included photography highlighting the female heroes in our everyday livesโthe ones that don’t make millions or grace headlines. The mothers, community moms, teachers, aunties, doulas, corner store clerks, older cousins, daughters, sisters, coaches, wives, grandmothers and medicine women who shape the world. The ones who wipe our tears, tell us he’s a dog, braid our hair and show up when no one else does.
To top this all the way off, all of the artists are female AND the show was curated by a woman.
Tell me, fam, when you are surrounded by dope people doing dope things, what does that make you? Right, a person that likes dope things! That’s me! Heyyy! I am ever-inspired by us, by what we can give after all we’ve endured. I think we should be celebrated more often.

This is beautiful- I love the fact that it celebrates ordinary black women who are often overlooked. We have a similar organization who puts on exhibitions like this in the UK. Itโs so inspiring
